Are you ready to step up your leadership game in international education? Join the yPIE Board of Directors!
Did you know that yPIE has nearly 500 members in its LinkedIn group? We’ve been growing steadily over the past few years, and the attendee lists for our happy hours and professional events always fill up quickly. The Board is excited by this demand for programming, and we’re constantly challenged to provide different ways for fellow young professionals to network, discuss emerging trends and issues, share career opportunities, and develop new skills.
I know I’m speaking for the whole yPIE Board when I say that we are very sad to see Janice Mulholland, Jason Terry, and Emily Volpe leave their posts next month. They all have provided tremendous leadership and support for our group, and we wish them the best as they pursue their exciting new adventures. They have left big shoes to fill, and we now are turning to the yPIE membership for your talent, leadership, and volunteer spirit to keep the momentum behind yPIE growing over the next year! If you have what it takes and want to volunteer your time with a fun group of people, I encourage you to apply.
We’re currently recruiting for three new board members to be appointed for a one-year term from July 2015 until July 2016. We have vacancies on both the Membership committee and the newly created Events committee (find full committee descriptions here).
The Board of Directors is responsible for the strategic direction of yPIE and oversees all aspects of the organization, including membership, communications, partnerships, and activities. The Board is made up of eight young leaders in the Washington, DC metro area. One serves as the Board Chair, and the remaining seven will serve on one of four committees: Membership, Events, Communications, and Partnership & Outreach. The Board meets on a monthly basis to review activities and plan future projects. Additional board or committee meetings may be held as needed throughout the year.
