Membership in yPIE offers many professional opportunities: networking with peers, speaker series featuring experts from the field, and guest blogging to share your expertise with the world. But once per year, yPIE opens applications to join our Board of Directors to take charge of your professional development.
Joining the yPIE Board is an opportunity for young professionals in the DC metro area to expand their leadership skills, to guide the strategic development of the organization, and to develop deep relationships with their peers in international education. I chose to apply for a position on the Board because I did not see my work represented by the programming offered. By joining the Board, I was able to help the organization be more inclusive of the wide variety present in the international education field. I encourage everyone who is inspired by the potential of the organization to submit their application.
Regardless of the stage you are in your career, you can make a difference in shaping the future of yPIE. We are looking for young professionals who are passionate about international education, are enthusiastic about giving back to their community, and are full of creative ideas to shape the professional development of their peers.
